Show me your IGH road builds
Have you built something around an Alfine or Rohloff hub? Or maybe a 650B with a three speed? I'm interested in seeing Classic road bikes with internally geared hubs. Show us what you've got!

1972 Raleigh Super Course. Fitted with Sturmey Archer drum brake hubs. Front is a dyno, rear is a 5 spd SRF-5. This is my daily commuter.

You're too early, AZORCH. I got the frame, the AW hub, the dynohub, the rest of the parts. Everything I need for a clubman style cruiser. Just need some summertime off to build the thing. Call again in September ...

A little early for me too....its together but still waiting for some parts to hook up the shifting. Got an STI adapter for the brazed on fitting on order, and will probably use a standard thumb shifter. Laced the wheels with Alex DM18 rims; using a campy triomphe crank (42T) and a 19T rear. Will likely lose the quill pedals and go with some MKS as well. Obviously the saddle has to go too!

I've built several over the years, but the one that's in the current fleet is a '74 Raleigh Super Course MKII with Sturmey-Archer SRF 5-speed hub and bar-end shifter:

After converting the International to the SRF-3 hub I'm finding myself just a little bit hooked at the moment on IGH (which is why I began this thread in the first place, of course!) I still need to set up a good, clear shot of the bike, but here's a cell phone snap from today's ride.

This was my winter bike but I'm gonna probably put upright bars on it and sell it... build another wheelset and find a frame that fits. I have all the parts for another 3 speed conversion on another frame I had kicking around, but I think it might be too small as well. I love the ride on the peugeot though... kind of just floats along.

I know its not Vintage, Im sorry. Its an interesting bike though. Mercier Kilo WT5 from the infamous Bikesdirect. Its got the SA SRF-5(w) 5 speed hub and a barend shifter. Reynolds 520 frame with all the braze ons, Sugino crank and some Schwalbe marathons I threw on it.

When I can get my hands on one of the newer hubs, I'll let you know. As for the fixed Bendix, no clutch, no slop.

The first is a rough draft of a 1949 Claud Butler clubman. Chater Lea crank, 1938 Phillip pedals, GB Sport brakes, SA 4-speed hub w/Dyno, Wauterlasser bars, Bayliss Wiley BB and front hub (not shown). I expect it will be on 26" rims when done. The second is vintage sorta- its a Titus road frame from the beginning years of Titus. The frame is set up for a 1" steering tube if that tells you anything. I had a Reynolds 953 fork made up for it as I had no trust of carbon. This one features an Alfine 11-speed hub with some ancient wingnuts. Overall its about 20 pounds. I plan to finish the steering tube and neck once I get the new brake/shift levers installed.
I like radial spoke patterns a lot so they are featured on both front wheels and the Dyno side of the clubman rear wheel. I'm also a sucker for Brooks saddles.
I like the ride of the Clubman- adequate proof that bikes have not progressed all that much since 1955 (the year of the SA hub). The Titus however is my main ride. It was built to prove out the Alfine hub (I have a MTB with a Rolhoff already); I wanted to know if the Alfine justifies a custom frame. It does. I hate derailers and this one proved that the Alfine is competitive with the best derailer systems and justifies a high-end build.

The problem is that the hub requires 135mm for installation. So finding an older road frame to accommodate it is a bit of a trick.
