CL to soon disallow HTML pics?

They wouldn't be needed if the uploaded pics weren't of such small and still horrible quality. Better than it was a few years ago, but still dismal. I wonder if you will still be able to link to your photos on another site. I bet they will assume they have rights to the pics now too??,,,,BD

The way I read it, they won't allow offsite embedded images, but I think you'll still be able to post a link to your image gallery. I think this is a bad thing in general, but I have to admit that I'm amused that it will shake up a couple of brain dead flippers here who post way too many photos in their daily barrage of spam.

I wish they would allow bigger pictures. But it's a big improvement over just a few years ago when they had 4 max and they were even smaller.

I plan on linking to a gallery of larger pics for bike sales.

Does CL require any fees for sellers? How can someone complain about a service that is provided to the public for free?

I bet it will not be long until there are fees. I would not be surprised if the plan wasn't already written up, and just waiting for an approval. The answer from the higher ups will be.... "Yes, I believe that's a fine idea!! When can we start?" Call me paranoid, I don't mind.,,,,BD

It struck me about the same way that the photobucket new policy did. The one where you are blocked from downloading your own images from the site.... I have around 750 or so pics on there, and lost all of my originals in a computer crash... Yes, it completely sucks, and should be illegal for them to hold them hostage that way....

EDIT:Hmmm, that's odd. all of a sudden it's allowed again? I wonder how many complaints they got? No fanfare or apology, just a download feature appeared in the lower right if you scroll down below the picture.... I can do it when I get to Houston. Right now D/L 750 pics would wipe out my 10 gig limit in no time flat, lol!

I did a search on it, and found nothing? Must be so obscure that one person made it up, and it never caught on.,,,,BD

I don't think Photobucket was willfully holding out on feature-functionality. - Rather, I think it's a case where they were forced into launching their new UI before it was "all there".... This is what happens when development lags drop-dead launch dates.

You have been able to down load individual photos from your albums for some time - but here are some features that they are still in the mill:
  • Download album
  • Rename files
  • Guest password access
  • Search within album

^ I look forward to the improvements on Photobucket.

I would NOT however, look forward to seeing CL rescind functionality for its users with a ban on using HTML.
I see no conceivable reason for it, and so I suspect it is simply willful and capricious ( but not all that surprising, considering that their management is a perverse bunch.)

More dated than obscure I think, you'd have to get pretty close to the exact quote to find it on google. It's from a live recording of Be-bob Tango (Of the Old Jazzmen's Church) on the Roxy & Elsewhere album. During an improvisation, FZ says "jazz is not dead, it just smells funny..."

Craigslist is a tiny company, and they are already making a ton of money off job listing fees. i doubt they will ever charge for listings for most things or else people would stop using it

Nah PB was acting like you only upload newer photos, as an album. The last "Improvements" they made rendered my previous laptop obsolete, as in I could not do ANYTHING on the site at all. Even threads here with photobucket pics would freeze up or take forever to load. Glad I have a newer computer now. I just rode 62 miles on my Peugeot PH10... I think I am going to lay down and watch Star Wars flicks the rest of the day, haha! Later all....,,,,BD
