I think if you had cream or white cables or grips or something else to go with the tires it would be better...like so

I think it is silly when folks get upset about their creme tires or white bar tape, etc...get "dirty"
Are these the same people who buy white shoes and obsessively clean them to keep them looking new? I personally think they look better with use, as does white h-bar wrap. It's like a pair of jeans or All-Star sneakers. Once broken in they look just right. |
To cream or not to cream...
I'm inclined to agree with this. I may have overstated my concern about the dirt stripe on cream tires. I'd prefer the tires to stay minty but it's no biggie if they don't, and in fact I may even end up liking them more as they "break in." Such has been the case in the past with other items.
For now, I think we're going to stick with the cream tires and see how it feels for the first few months. Then maybe fenders. We were very much on the fence about the whole thing, but everyone's input has helped assuage doubts, for now at least. Thanks, folks! |
Man - I can't even keep my black tires clean - But - Getting your baby a new set of high heal shoes (tires) is gotta get you points somewhere...

Great points about fenders: they'll cover up most of the dirt on the tread, tone down the brightness of the tires, and enhance the look of the bike overall. They're definitely going on the wish list of accessories to be added to this build.
Also, those Gran Compe ENEs are great looking tires. Brown and creme go so well together and the brown eliminates the issue of the visible dirt strip on the center of the tread. I just wish they came in larger sizes! I can only hope that VO will spec other sizes if they find enough demand for the 28s. |

After seeing them in person, I think the all cream tires would look better on yours. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/a...pse1e98a09.jpg |
