Scored a Merckx and a Paramount*
A neighbor had these and agreed to let them go for a kind neighborly amount....

At the moment it's mostly tri-color 600 with Mavic Reflex SUP UB rims, a Dura Ace rear and Mavic 500 front hub. The Paramount* is PDG Series 70 with full Deore XT and Tange Prestige short butt tubing. |
I dig the Paramount mtb. I used to have one about two years ago but was way too big but I still rode it around. That's a score and half on those two rides. I wish I had neighbors like that.

Looks like a Professional, serial number will tell.
I prefer the Professional to the Corsa/Corsa Extra. |

I prefer the Professional to the Corsa/Corsa Extra. I saw an early 80s Professional in my favorite Merckx color which is silver. Rolled right by our house a couple of weeks ago. Went in and grabbed my Kvale, shoes and helmet to chase him. Caught him as he was crossing the river bridge by our house in St.Paul. Bought the guy coffee and we chatted about the Merckx. He was the original owner and I would say he's pushing seventy. I'll be the next owner. :) |

I just checked and its a 56cm Professional with a 'Z' for 1985...
A little tlc, that's what she needs. |
I'm assuming 'agreed to let them' meant 'let them go' and not 'to let' as in 'to rent' them. Nice grabs.

Same here.....there are benefits to being the youngest home owners in the 'hood.
I can't believe some of the great bicycles some of these guys have hanging in their garages and basements. When we bought our first house, we ended up with 3 nice bicycles, as the former owner was too old to carry them down the attic stairs. We offered, but he said his grandkids wouldn't want them anyway. |

Great, another tactic of scoring bikes out in the open..:roflmao2:
But it's one of the few vintage bicycles I really want at this point. Most of the bicycles I had here just hung on hooks, but the geo on that Professional suits my tastes. I've only seen two in the last ten years and I'll make sure to give him fair dollar. |

Nice score!
I have a mid-80's professional also, does yours have the cast cable guide "runs" on the BB shell or the plastic guide that pops in the drain hole? |
I have a neighbor with THREE Einsentrauts. My size. I don't believe they have any children. I hope I can play my cards right.
Nice score, Jim. |
Did I say I hate you? I hate you.
Nice score. |
Wow, there are some finds there!!
I built up a similar series 70 mtb for my wife. Nice bike as well (but hard to notice when you have a Merckx in the same posting). |
