I believe late 70's early 1980's Red Line. The Raleigh was a low end 90's model, after I said I would pass the old fella said he had a nice old BMX bike in the garage. Lot's of anodized red parts (sunshine hubs w flip flop rear, ukia rims, Ashtabular cranks with Takagi mx 40 chain ring, mx brakes w Chang star brake handle, and crappy huffy seat). I'm thinking it may make good trade bait on the BMX forum for some more my style.

I scored 2 1983 Mongoose's last week, a Californian and an Expert. BMX bikes can really take you down a completely different version of memory lane! That Redline is incredible!

Fortunately I missed the BMX craze by a couple of years. I know some guys that were huge into it, but I was road/crit racing by that time and soon to be sidelined anyways. I have a couple of newer Redline products that always make people look twice, they have either never heard of the brand or they think that it was BMX only.

Fortunately? Late 70s / Early 80s was a great time to be a kid.
And if you had a cool BMX, life was sweet. I'm glad I got to experience it first hand.
No helicopter parents, no big brother, no all consuming interwebs...
