Hi friends, may I please have your opinion on this Peugeot bike? It was a weekend find, but there is no name anywhere on the frame. Thanks in advance for your opinions, I appreciate them!

The paint job is in surprisingly good shape esp. considering how bad the parts look. Others here know their Peugeots better than me but this is a high end bike as it has nice quality simplex dropouts and a high end forged stronglight crank. The parts mix is odd because it appears to be an older stronglight crank with what look to be newer Japanese parts. Better pics would help.

Don't you know that all men's French bikes are named Pierre.

That Stronglight crank looks really good to me. I'd bet the shifters would be good too. Hopefully the bottom bracket isn't too bad, but I have a funny feeling that the headset needs some serious work.

Looks like a nice project, but don't plan on riding it next week.

You think? The HS is rusted out badly as is the chain. Velo Orange has french threaded headsets (and BBs as well).

If it was my size, I'd be making some room in the garage.

Sure, I'd love an old quality french bike like this even with a rusty HS,

Call it a PX10; everyone calls their Peugeot a PX10.

True, but I'm pretty sure that's what this one is.

I like the color and the lugs. Too bad it's so big!

Yes, it could be a very late 1970s PX10. The first I'd be doing is verifying the seat post size. Let's hope you can remove it. A seat post that is missing the saddle and mounting clamps is usually not a very good sign.
