Peugeot Road Bike Super Competition
 

I have a nice Peugeot Super Competition that has been sitting around awhile. It has Campagnolo GS components (crank, shifters, front derailleur, hubs, brakes) a Shimano 600 rear derailleur, Rigida rims, and really nice white paint. It has a “Record Du Monde” label on it, is a “Super Competition” is “hand brazed” and is Reynolds 531 steel.
Does anyone know anything about this bike?

The bike was sold under the "Peugeot" name, and they called the model the "Super Competition". They were available in a really nice white color. It has a mix of Campagnolo parts, and a Shimano rear derailleur. Also, rims made by Rigida. After they painted the frame (which is probally Reynold 531 steel), they put on a bunch of stickers that said things like "Super Competition" and "Record Du Monde".

But thats all I know about it, really...Oh yeah, I think it came with TWO wheels, but don't quote me on that...

Anyway, it sounds like a nice older bike, that I hope you ride and get a lot of enjoyment and fun out of.

Nice bike. Might be a CFX10-- a PX10 frame built with other parts than the stock stronglight etc. stuff. Very good frame.

Probably from 1979 or so, although if you look on the bottom bracket shell, you may find the serial number. Info on reading them is here:

What Poguemahone said. You have Peugeot's venerable top-of-the-line PX-10 frameset, circa 1980. (Your serial number will comprise a letter followed by several digits; the first digit of the serial number is the last digit of the year of manufacture of the frame.) I have the next model down, a PKN-10, which is a delightful frame, even if its fit and finish are suboptimal.

Campy components with a Shimano RD?

The Campy fanatics will have hissy fits over that!

I just sold my Peugeot Triathlon this weekend on Ebay. I'm suprised it didn't get more than the $300 I got for it. Sorry to see it go, hope the new guy likes it.
