1984 Torpado...first ride...
So as I told you before, I bought a 1984 Torpado Super Strada from Bluedevil63 as a 40th birthday present to myself. Well, it arrived on Wednesday very well packed. I rapidly unpacked her and began putting her together, ignoring the fact that it was dinner time. Once she was together I took a quick ride around the neighborhood.
It didn't take long for me to realize that I didn't like the 3TTT bars (too narrow and may end up selling) & stem (too long).
So I swapped them with the ones from my Bianchi, and got everything all buttoned up (now I just have to change the bar wrap and brake hoods...color doesn't work).
By the time she was all done it was pretty late, so no ride.
The very next day, some strange pain (think hernia) showed up so I was out of commission...until this morning that is.
So I hop on the Torpado and head for Rocky Hill.
It was a quick/short ride but I LOVE the bike. It has a nice smooth ride, the campy grupo is nice and smooth. It's quick, stable, and comfy. I even like the saddle...Selle San Marco Super Corsa.
I will post new pictures when I get the wrap and hoods changed, but just wanted to put it out there.
