I don't believe in the "must keep everything original" mantra, but this might be more than I'd be willing to change. To a bmx? Eek.

my first bike was a red, white and blue free spirit cruiser with long ape hangers and a banana seat. a year or two later, it had bmx bars, two black vinyl pads and a number plate. god, i wish i had a photo of the bike like that.

Why can't this guy just put on some wicked MTB wheels, bars and brakes and go all klunker on it?

I think a link to the Charlie Kelly's MTB site or Mombat is in order to help dissuade this alt gent from abusing this poor old thing too much...
