Help Me Identify this Shimano 8 SIS RD Please...

Hi folks,

I am in the middle of a rebuilding a old Peugeot and it came with a Shimano A 8SIS RD. I am looking to get the specs for this RD, but have no idea of its model number outside of what's printed. = I am no where! Primarily I would like to mate it to a 8SP MTB cassette using 9Speed shifters (Brifter) Shimano ST 3400 Sora. Can't find this thing anywhere. Please help if ya have seen this one before and know anything about its tooth capacity.

Thanks!

Based on the attached photo, I would venture to guess that your rear DR is an Alivio 8 speed. It should be able to shift up to a 30 tooth rear cog with no difficulties; anything larger and you'd be pushing the envelope.

Thanks! No sooner than I posted this, I cleaned the back of RD and the model number "magically" appeared . So it is a RD MC18.

Now I have new issue that maybe you all can help with.... Shimano specs the front chainrings at 42-32-22T. I have a old Sugino that I was hoping to use, it has 52/42... Is there any room here?

Seriously trying to keep the budget for this rebuild low as possible right now
