(Not) Just another Peugeot or Bike with Bling
Super Competition with a nice gold italian group on it. Rides really nice by the way. Was wondering....were the super competitions sold as frames only? I would imagine the italian 'jewlrey" would not have been put on at the peugeot factory in France.

You don't really want that sissy-looking gold stuff on there. Send it to me, and I'll dispose of it properly for ya.
Just kidding, obviously, congrats.

You better be careful riding it, though, or you're going to snag some low flying birds with those brake cables.

Peugeot super competitions were sold in the US with campy parts for a time but I've never seen them sold with the gold bling as original equipment.

What's the serial number? The decals look almost identical to those of my 1980 PKN-10 Competition, which would have been the next model down.

The gold components do look impressive, but I'm not sure if that Peugeot frame is really matching up with them that well and taking best advantage of their gold finish (Maybe if it was a French gold finished Spidel group, it would work better). I'd like to see that surff maybe on a Cannondale Black Lightning frame instead. Or maybe an Italian 80's "Peacock" bike like a mid 80's Ciocc or Colnago, with all the fancy pantographing and the thne typical over the top fancy paintjobs and graphics that top line Italian bikes had.
