question about a wheelset
its a matched set of sunshine pro-om hubs and matching fiamme ergal rims. they are a tubular or sewup set up idk which is correct terminology. if any one has any information about them i would appreciate it
|
1-You need to know the size, first, which is very likely 700c, though the rim may say 622 on it.
2-There are tons of tubular tires (or sew-ups, if you wish) out there. Not really for novices, but fun. 3-Welcome to the forum. If you're not sure what tubulars are, you may want to pass on this set. 4-Doesn't mean they aren't nice, but based on your description, may well need a good truing/tensioning. |
if any one has any information about them i would appreciate it If it is best quality possible, ride quality that you seek, get a set of tubular wheels, glue on a set of good quality tubular tires and then experience the improvement in ride quality. The difference, on some bikes, is astounding. But, for a first timer, you might want to understand that the tubular wheel is not for everyone or every riding condition. My opinion, of course. |
my dad and i did a little research and we actually were able to get the tires on them. so they are ready to ride and on a bike i was just wanting more information about what they and the quality. these were actually given to me by a cousin you found them in the loft of a car dealership

Sunshine Pro-Am hubs are quite nice. I have a set that was original on a 36 year old bike that has seen thousands of miles under me without problems after repacking the bearings with fresh grease.

does anyone have tips on how to maintain tubelars?
