I won the Lottery!!

Well, not exactly

Actually, I just got word from my realtor that we officially closed today; my house finally sold! I should receive my net by Friday.

So, a windfall of sorts. My question for all of you: instead of being thrifty and responsible with that windfall (let's call it $30,000 for our purposes here), what bike-related goodies would you buy if you could afford to go on a spending spree?

I'd buy this, for starters:

Have fun - remember, in this scenario, there's no need for second-guessing, buyer's remorse or disapproving looks from your SO; it's found money, and found money is for crazy, stupid stuff

congratulations! Next stop: a new house with a big garage converted to bike cave

I'd buy a wicked touring rig, or better yet, have one build, and take a really long tour.

Lottery win!!! - Titanium - I would be drawn like a magnet (I know it's not really magnetic) to titanium. I'm thinking Colnago, I'm thinking DeRosa, I'm thinking OMAS.

Too bad Titaniumrush doesn't sound half as good as goldrush, but yes, that would be my choice as well. Just saw a to-die-for titanium tourer with a Rohloff at the LBS...

Thanks! How about just a really big garage?

I like how a number of people are leaning towards the "money is freedom to travel" bent. I get that, too!

DD,
Here you go, these are in another BF thread running now:https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...%29-everything Just imagine the "father " part or make something up, seems to be right up your alley, I'd love to watch you twitch as you try to resist doing your drillium magic on these gems.

You would be making a fine choice.

Great riding framesets/bicycles and the paint on this one is quite restrained compared to mine/most.

As for a touring bicycle, I would make a very fast call to arrange a slot in Mitch Pryor's MAP Randonneur Fall build cycle.

From his website:

Grady, you're right - have to get on that waiting list! I saw a beautiful MAP at Velo Cult when I visited PDX for the Handmade Bike Show. The details were astounding and I don't think I could find a cooler, modern touring rig.

Bill: wow, $14,000! Well, I'd still have $26,000 left, right? What the hell

Wrap 'em up, Richard!

I would almost go custome. Perhaps a sexy mixte or see if someone like Bishop would build me a Hetchins/Hellenic frame with a Bates fork.

But then again a good looking young guy like you might want a nice Italian inspired tandem to go cruising for a cycling minded young lady.

You just do that, I'll even buy and send you a brand new Dremel with a complete set of accessories and bits just to see your hands twitch as you try and resist drillium's siren call

A trip to Italy where I would scour the scambios for the elusive cambio corsa Cinelli. I want to look like this guy (although he is sporting a Paris Roubaix).

I understand Mitch Pryor moved his shop to Chico, CA.

Thanks goodness.

I'll be visiting my niece at Lewis and Clark this fall near Portland and I am not sure I could practice enough restraint without getting out of there without a MAP on order.
