Need Viscount/Lambert crank fixing bolts

I somehow lost the bolts that hold the cranks on the spindle on the Viscount I'm rebuilding for my wife. Anyone have a pair or know where to get them? They are very non-standard. Thanks.

Probably Whitworth. I got some years ago at a British motorcycle shop.

Someone was selling a mint condition Viscount with spare parts on CL locally last week. But I checked the ad, and no BB bolts. Nice ad though!

Very tough to find, I sourced a set along with a bottom bracket spindle from a forum member when I did my sons Viscount.

Also keep in mind that Viscount and Lambert bottom bracket spindles are not interchangeable, they have different tapers. If it comes to that anyways.

I didn't notice the replies to my original post until just now. Thank you, folks. top, does the offer still apply?

Will my English thread pitch gauge work to gauge Whitworth threads? My guess is that it will, but only if I can find it.

Tom, I can't remember the particular pitch, but if top doesn't come through, I've purchased the bolts a couple of different times in the last few years from Baxter Cycles in Marne, IA. They weren't cheap, but they worked. Baxter is a big web presence for vintage British motorcycles.

It should work, at least well enough to distinguish 22tpi from 26tpi.

I measure the bolts from an Aerospace model as 7.89mm X 21.8tpi.

It turns out that a lot of nuts and bolts on this Viscount are Whitworth! I think the threads on the crank fixing bolts might be Whitworth, so I was surprised that it takes a 14mm socket. Thank you, top, very much indeed. As far as I can tell, there is no substitute for these bolts. I put the bike together, and my wife has ridden it. Overall, she likes it, and I can't tell you how significant that is. She doesn't like most bikes. There is work to do in order to make her fully satisfied. I will soon start a new thread about this bike.

Speaking of taper on the crank spindle, if I try to put a TA crank on the Lambert spindle, is it likely to work?

And if the spindle spins freely, should I assume that the bearings are healthy and leave them alone?

If the spindle spins smoothly, is what I'd call a conclusive sign of good health.

I'm still riding on ever-unserviced Viscount bb bearings, still smooth as silk.

These bearings are relatively oversized, so barring contamination should last a very long time.

My Viscount has a taper that is compatible with a Sugino swaged "3-arm style" crankset, but assuming yours is actually tapered, a test-fit with a TA crankset for fit and chainline seems like a good idea to me.

If your spindle IS tapered you should be all set. Hope it's not the UN-tapered version.
The crank bearings are pretty common (6006) and swapping them out is no big deal.
FWIW, don't count on the extractor threads on the crank arms being standard. I ripped the threads out of the drive-side on mine. Fortunately, that six-hole chainring gave fine purchase to a three-armed gear puller.
