1983 Centurion Turbo

I found a Centurion Turbo on CL today (almost missed it as the title just said 'sport bicycle'). Looks to be in pretty good shape although not all the parts match each other so I'm guessing its not all original. The stem certainly isn't.

Maybe some of you could help me figure out what is original and what isn't.

The serial number is N3H0062 so I believe that makes it an 1983. It has Suntour DT shifters, Suntour Cyclone M? FD (there may have been another letter or so after the M but its a bit scuffed up so I can't tell).

It has a Shimano 600 RD and Shimano cranks, model FC-S105. I have no idea about the brakes or calipers. I haven't found any brand or markings on them yet although I haven't cleaned them yet.

The rear stay on the drive side is chromed, as is the top of the seat stays where they meet the top tube. The fork has a sloping crown and the fork crown is chromed. The fork also has what appears to be lightning bolt shaped decals on them. The rims are araya 700C and the hubs say SUZUE.

I took some pictures but the pictures are 'as found'. I haven't started cleaning yet. I wanted to have some before images as a record.

Thanks in advance for any info or tips about getting it back in shape!

Here is a link to my gallery with documentation of a 1984 Turbo in completely original condition (other than the bar wrap.) Maybe that will help?

No matter how it looks, no matter what's on it, it's still a freaky great riding frame, it's a Tange 1 chromed goodness Turbo, and congratulations. Sign up for that next 100-miler, and go get your Turbo groove on.

That's what I think too! I can't wait to get everything cleaned up and lubed and take it out. The chrome looks to be in real good shape, no flakes and it all appears to be there.

Thanks for link Azorch. That's a beautiful looking 84. I Love those bronze colored brakes.

Welcome to the Centurian club. If not, we need to start one (Robbie you listening). Get you some automotive touch up paint and fix those booboos and that old Centurian would look great.

Sweet, I just scored a Turbo from RobbieTunes there myself. I can't wait to see what direction you go in with this!
