This afternoon my wife finally got a chance to ride her Raleigh Tourist on her usual 10 mile circuit. I followed along with a 1/4 W wrench for needed for adjustments. Her summary (edited for brevity):

The Brooks B72 is not bad.
Needs a higher gear.
OEM Dare grips suck.
Much easier to ride than her Schwinn Suburban (5 speed).

So I am pretty good with all that. I had swapped out the 20t for a 22t thinking it would suit her better and was wrong, again. Easy fix.

I am not sure what to do about the grips. I expect I can get the Dares off without damage but I don't know what to replace them with. She likes the awful black foam grips on her Schwinn. Cork?

$11 for cork at Velo Orange. She needs a bell too. Bike looks great! Brooks doesn't look level.

None of mine are level, most have a noticeable nose up attitude, that is way Brooks work.

The Brooks has been adjusted down to almost level to suit her. I liked it a bit nose up.

It got a Crane brass bell after that photo. She says it's too loud but I like it. A great ring that lasts.

Oh, she wants a mirror now.

+1 on the bell, but given the relaxed geometry and the up right sitting position I believe the Brooks suits her fine. Wouldnt on my bikes though. My Brooks Pro is dead level on my road bike.

Good Looking bike OP. Looks like a real rider.

Thanks. She really likes the way it rides and rolls so effortlessly. She was telling my daughter about it, who just rolled her eyes in response, being 19 and all.
