What's the wheelbase of the 60's, 70's Schwinn Paramount? Is the only difference between the P13 (race) and P10~15(tourer, tourer with triple) just the addition of eyelets or is the geometry different? When did they started shrinking the wheelbase and raising the bottom bracket?
I crashed my commuter bike into a field, destroyed the frame fork and tire (both top and down tube cracked). While I should be looking at something with canti brakes and more wheelbase, damn it chromed nervex lugs are damn sexy... They are so pretty I know we can make this work out  Here are some pics of my dead bike  http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=325341 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=325342 What are the odds of fixing that fork? |
The best source of 70s Paramount geometry I've found is in the 1976 Paramount catalog:

Anybody knows the chain stay length for the 60s~70s? Bottom bracket drop?
I'm not going to have the chance to try one before I get it. Hopefully I won't have to play catch and release with this. If anybody has a 21"-22" 60s~70s P10-15 for sale, even if just the frame/fork/headset, I'm all ears. Paint can be chewy but I care for clean chrome. |
The chainstay length of my 1972 P15-9 is 435mm. The BB drop is 70mm.
Mine is a 24" frame, but all sizes had the same chainstay length and BB drop. |
Dang it I'm having a hard time finding what I want:
If somebody spots one that fits this description please let me know. There's a '69 on ebay right now but it is a repaint job with the chromed fork and rear ends covered. I'm afraid that somebody sanded those in order to make the paint stick. |
