May sound strange, but those fenders are it. So much so i don't notice the rest.

Rare day you get to see fenders.

KonAaron Snake 07-16-13 07:45 PM

Do you really need a reason to get an SC?

Here's the deal - I've wanted an SC for a while now...I got the orange and really like how it rides. But I wanted a pretty one. I've debated restoring it, and this came along at a decent number. This way I get a rider and a head turner.

I also REALLY wanted the fenders; the green should look sharp with the gold.

Good for you!

Enjoy.

Definitely a younger brother! I like the chrome seat lug.

My serial number is about 500 later than yours, the rear campy derailleur is marked 74. Any idea on the date of yours? I love the fenders..wow.

KonAaron Snake 07-16-13 08:36 PM

Derailleur dates 73', consistent with head badge, but which is late for the eyelets. . I don't think there's any rhythm or reason to SC serials.

Gorgeous Cinellis! They are just amazing in every way! I can't wait to ride one! :) Congratulations to both of you for your scores!

That's a beauty.

Looks like museum quality!

jjhabbs 07-16-13 09:29 PM

Yeah baby. Post well done by the way

gaucho777 07-16-13 09:45 PM

Congrats, Aaron! I'm glad I was offline for a few hours and missed the tease. You seem to have shifted from the De Rosa bug to the Cinelli bug. Looking forward to seeing it assembled. Gonna be a beauty.

Btw, is there a story re that stem?

Kudos to vjp for his enabling...errrr, I mean, helpful hand. :thumb:

Congrats to you, too, VonRuden.

Happy for you both.

(Now I'm going to drink some whisky until this loathsome feeling of jealousy subsides.)

Those fenders must have been a most excellent surprise!

Gotta love the unanticipated windfalls when a seller, with nary a warning in the original advert, turns around and says:
"Oh, by the way, these come with the bike..."

Definite score, and I'm glad to see that our proximity to WA state here saved some shipping trouble (and no doubt expense)...

dddd 07-16-13 11:48 PM

From page 1, looks like Campag bar-end shifter, so must be an old bike..

Mondia and Legnano came to mind.

Wow, it's a Cinelli, and with fenders.

Nice color, and really nice for a rider. Ride report please.

The whisky did not work.

Italuminium 07-17-13 02:25 AM

Nope, that did not disappoint. Great post and enjoy your new ride, indulge us with a lot of build pics please :)

I hear that. I'm positively green!

KonAaron Snake 07-17-13 05:37 AM

Thanks all - I'm definitely excited about this one. Cinelli fenders are one of those things you hear about - maybe see in shows - but I never thought I'd have em'. You really have to see them to appreciate it, but the paint and detail is really impressive. I wish the seat lug were chromed, but I'll try to accept it ;)

VJP was awesome - especially running it across the border. His packing was amazing.

Gary Fountain 07-17-13 06:11 AM

I can understand your excitement. It's wonderful.

Do you mean the seatpost? I just assumed a dentist had too much laughing gas. The stem is the standard Cinelli 1A with the oval logo.

rootboy 07-17-13 07:05 AM

Aside from Nitrous Oxide, what do you suppose accounts for that hole in the seat post? Well, at least it is in a fairly-easily-replaceable part. Yet another cool bike Aaron. Super.

Yes, sorry, I meant the seatpost.

-holiday76 07-17-13 11:29 AM

cool. Nice bike, I think. take some better pics in light.
Are you going to ride it? Have you used those campy bar end shifters before? I have them on my carlton and have ridden centuries with them, however they are getting changed out soon because they suck.

KonAaron Snake 07-17-13 11:32 AM

I'll sure I'll take it on a few rides with friends, but this is definitely meant more as hanger'. I have my rider Cinelli...it's ugly so I don't have to worry about scratching it, denting fenders, etc. I'm also not a fan of barcons in general, at least with drops.

ColonelJLloyd 07-17-13 11:46 AM

If I send you a point-and-shoot will you promise to use it? :)

:roflmao:

My normal photos aren't that bad. These were taken indoors after daylight...so it is what it is. I promise to have my normal mediocre level photos at some point soon ;)
