Dig! The blue looked good, but the after incarnation looks better. That's the best looking of any DA gruppo too.

I prefer the original stem, but it does look great.

i liked the original stem also, but it was a 120mm and i needed a 100mm. stems for 1'' steer tubes are hard to find. other than the $300 titanium stems, this is the only one i found. i really didnt want to go with a 1 1/8'' and a shim.

The stem looks better flipped (as before).

I guess the new one is straight, though, so flippin' it won't help.

+1... really hard to find, and the ones that are out there, especially the Italian ones of fame, are going for amazing prices. I got a shim however and it works fine, looks horrible though but on that bike (my budget gravel grinder) looks are of secondary concern.

Now that's a fun Merckx.

What do you think about the ride?

Any impressions versus your Pinarello?

I would geuss with the larger bars and stem for a more modern setup the owner wanted the inch or so more on the seatpost to match and changed posts.

Well, I took it out this morning, I think I have a keeper. Not sure about the stem setup yet, I need to ride it for awhile. I'm use to the slammed down setup on my pinarello. The bike rides awesome, absorbs the harsh country roads a lot better than my carbon bike. It's very light and nimble and wants to be ridden fast. I was just out for a nice easy shake down ride, looked down and noticed I was going 18mph. To sum it up. I love it.

Very nice bike.
