Is there any Yokota love out there?
I just scored a Yokota Yosemite Pro and do not really know much about it, it is a mix of XT and DX which from what I can gather is pretty close to original, still if anyone can shed some light on it I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Looks like the stock brakes on a Yokota mtb I picked up once. It has a WIDE bottom bracket too. Possibly proprietary, but more likely a 73mm, which sprang up for a short time during that era. Yokota made some nice bikes, but were under the radar for much of the time they were around.
I thought I had found a sweet Yokota touring bike in my size at the flea market once, but once I walked up on it, I found it had a HORRIBLE front end collision, and was "Straightened". The lower head tube lug had turned oval, but oddly the brazing never let go through the whole ordeal. I grabbed it for parts. It would have been a nice one, sigh.,,,,BD

The first time I laid eyes on my wife, she was rolling her Yokota mtn bike through the door of the LBS. Circa 1988, Deore 7 speed group with thumbies with the swirled smoke finish you saw on DiamondBack Ascents of the same time.
Lot's of love indeed.

Yes please! I'm a fan of e-stay framed bikes. Any chance to see a model from afar is a treat.
There is a C&V mtb thread here too. Highlights some classics from the past.

I put together a Frakenbike for my wife using a Yokota frame given to me by a friend. The only original component are the bottom bracket the crankset; the head tube was 1.5"!

I LOVE my Yokota - been with me since 1988. I've tried other mtb bikes and for me nothing's compared. Guess it was just luck I found my bike soulmate that early.
