Identifying my Nishiki

Good day guys! I'm here to ask you guys if anyone would ever recognize my Nishiki.

The frameset when I got it came with the stickers, Size 75 on the back portion of the seat tube, Chrome Molybdenum, Double Butted on the front side of the seat tube, and an orange Jitensha Bohan Toroku (Bicycle Anti-Theft Registration) sticker on the front side and bottom portion of the seat tube near the bottom bracket. It has this decals on the front side portion of the seat tube and head tube https://velobase.com/VeloImages/Headb...0552F7295.jpeg and has a decal on the opposite side of the drive side chainstay which says "Made By Kawamura", has a JIS number sticker on the top part of the bottom bracket.

So yes it is most likely made in Japan, possibly in Kobe by Kawamura himself just by considering the stickers.

Yes I've been skimming through the Nishiki Serial Number Database here and found no trace on it.
Pearl White paintjob and it has a chromed out Suntour Vertical Dropouts and Suntour fork ends.

BTW the serial number is G115008. And has no cut outs on the bottom bracket shell under like this one https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...shiki_frm6.jpg

I can't trace it back since it didn't came with the groupset but it came with a Sakae SR Custom Melt Forging seatpost, and a headset that doesn't have any identification on it or engraved symbols, Sugino MW-68 Bottom Bracket.

Here is the original photo before I converted it into a Keirin NJS Track bike.

Then here is the converted Nishiki NJS track bike.

Hi kean_oscar_619,

based on a Kawamura built frame and a serial number that starts with "G", I would say that this was not built for the USA or Canada markets.

Some of the other Kawamura built frames with serial numbers that start with "G", had their origins in Asia.

From the little detail that I could see your bike compares to a Superbe model. It is not an OPN.

A question about the serial number. Most Kawamura serial numbers start with two letters. The serial number that you have given only starts with one. Did you read the serial number correctly?

Based on the serial number and semi vertical dropouts and general lug work I will say this is not Kawamura built bike. Looks to be a mid to be a mid to late 80's Giant built with only few of it's original components. As for model it is a entry to lower mid level model most likely International.

I agree it compares to the superbe model in North America, very late 1970s, Nice frame.
