It's interesting- I wear a 32. 32 is actually kind of big on me. These shorts are 32, but they're pretty small on me. They must be 32" in 1985 measurements. :D
I noticed this in T shirts especially. You would think a measurements in waist, in inches, would be, well ...in inches. |

Ld's are pretty cool. Did Arvon use the same process as the guys in Ca?:

It IS interesting. Sometime, in the 90's I think, many manufacturers changed their sizing to reflect Supersized Americans.

Now THAT is shallow depth of field. In the old days, that took a 1.0 or 0.9 aperture.

J Had one on my bike back inthe 80's and just really loved the way it shifted. One day, I swear I'll eventually find an NOS one for my stash to use on a future project bike! |

My home is near the Litespeed factory. Whatever your opinion or thoughts about Litespeed (and the Lynsky brothers, still making bicycles in this town) they did contribute much to the popularity of titanium bikes and components since the late '80s. Every once in a while something interesting from the "story" will show up on local CL. These pieces were sold to me by a veteran employee, disposing of his private stash. All pieces are from the early 90s and are NOS, never even with decal. Some mountain bike stems and one of the prettiest seat posts I've seen. C&V. All titanium. J |
Chombi, that Mk II - well, both - in the picture is NOS, straight outta the box.

Rootboy, I'm just getting reacquainted with the contents of my boxes in a snail-paced lead-up to a big (fantasy) sell-off. One day, I keep telling myself. LOL.

Yeah. Those two Suntours are beauties. And the NR pair look like fine jewelry.

Here's a pretty cool, early Jim Blackburn front rack. As comedian Jay Mohr likes to say, "Put your name on it!" I like how it wraps around the fork and mounts to the rear end of the brake bolt. It's going on my newly repainted Nishiki Competition.

You don't see an Ofmega Premiere around too often. I've had one of those, a Nuovo Record and the Suntour Superbe as well. I think the Superbe was the best of those three myself. Nice pristine looking collection.
Havent seen too many Primier RDs too.......except for the one at eBay that understandably had not sold for the nutzoid asking price of $300+. It continues to sit a eBay for about a year now..... |

The most interesting Ofmega stuff seems to be dwindling at eBay in the last year. Just not too long ago, one would see a few Mistral cranksets for sale at most times, now they are few and far between with the good condition ones getting harder and harder to find and rising up in price exponentially. Replacement NOS chainrings could be close to unobtainium. Same goes of the Mistral aero platform Pedals and the black version of their plastic rear derailleur....but there seems to be always a pink one for sale though!

Well I just got this one in the mail today for a winter build. My coworker (who used to work for a Schwinn shop) kids me for "building around a derailleur instead of a frameset" but I can't afford the Bianchi Dolomiti frameset just yet so this is both motivation and commitment. Setting it up over an 8 speed Shimano Cassette setup with friction shifters.

Weyless hubs. I raced on these back in the day. I still have wheels built with them collecting dust and spiderwebs. Don't have any use for them now. |
