Rollfast Fender
Hello...I am new to this forum. I am trying to help a friend restore her old bicycle she rode in the '30s and '40s. She is looking for a rear fender for her Rollfast bicycle. I am not sure what size this bike is. The OD of the rear tire rim is 20 1/2". Would this be a 21", 24", or something else. Is the height of the tire above the rim included in determing bike size?
The old rear fender has a maximum height of about 12" from a perpendicular line projected between the ends of the fender. The horizontal distance between the ends of the fenders is 27". The shield on the front says "Rollfast, D.P. Harris Mfg. Co., New York, Made in U.S.A. Any help in determining the size of this bicycle and/or finding a rear fender would be appreciated. |
Photographs would help a lot. Of the whole bike, the rear wheel, etc. Also note any markings on the wheel or tire.

From your measurements, it sounds like a 24" wheel, but PICS and more info for ID would be needed to narrow it down.

The old tires have been found..say 24" x 2.125"...so must be a 24. There are no markings visible on the rims. Attached is a picture of the frame...The rear fender looks good in picture, but cracked in a number of places. Could be brazed, but she is looking for a solid one.http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=335299

I think Wald makes some 24" fenders... Maybe these would work? http://www.amazon.com/Wald-Fender-95.../dp/B000OQNXG8
If you google "wald fenders 24" lots of stuff comes up. |
