84 Lotus Legend; Columbus SL Spec'd frame, Tange Steerer W/ Rifling???

So I recently got an older Lotus Legend. It's the 84 Legend model. It's got Columbus SL stickers on the frame and fork. yet when I took the headset apart to re-grease the headset it has a Tange labeled steerer. It's labeled "Tange Made In Japan A4". The other strange thing is the steerer has rifling just like a SL steerer. the fork is the original fork also. Any Guess's as to what's up with this? Just a Manufacturer cheaping out or not having the part in stock? Is this common on Lotus bikes?

maybe Snydermann can point me in the right direction?

Edit; Got in touch with vintagelotusbikes.com. Apparently this is common on lotus bikes to have a tange steerer and crown built with Columbus fork blades.

How many ridges? Columbus steer tubes have 5 narrow helical ridges; Tange steer tubes have six wider ridges.

Columbus steer tube:

Tange steer tube:

Tange made forks to spec for many manufacturers; they were all stamped Tange regardless of the tubing used. Is there a dove stamping indicative of Columbus tubing?
