Aero Rim Help

Does anyone know the approximate date Mavic started making the CXP30?

Velobase suggests that the rims were first issued in the mid ninties but no mention of when production ended.

I believe they came out in 1995, the same year as the Cosmic, but I the earliest objective evidence I have is 1996.

Thanks for the replys. I am trying to put together a project using a mid eighties group. I have a set of Campy Record hubs laced to CXP30s. Hopefully they won't look too out of place on a lugged frame with vintage parts. Thanks again for all your help.

I had a set that I'm sure were built when both the hubs and the rim were "all that." The hubs were DA7700 and the CXP30's were silver. So, whenever DA7700 came out, I'm sure the original owner of these wheels had them built. In that era, he was of the "gotta have the latest, best, etc" mode.

I have a pair that I use on my Trek 770, they look better with the decals removed.
They were still in production in 1999 when Gerd Schneider wrote "The Art of Wheelbuilding" as he mentions them specifically.
They are absolutely bulletproof rims, not the lightest and pretty big with the cross guys.
