Nope! starting at 42%-ish way up till 52% income tax.
A car costs twice the sticker price because of all the tax. Only one or two of my recently graduated college class have cars: back of napkin math says 9$ for a gallon of fuel. However, there are some upshots: healthcare, minimum wage, and everything is infrastructurally miles ahead of the rest of the world. Cheap, world class education. But now we're keeping the tax rate but dumping all the benefits because we need the JSF and pay for the bad behaviour of the other countries in the Eurozone. Ah well. But let's not turn this political. :) At least in places like Denmark they have the infrastructure to show what they get for their money... Aaron :) |
My dad displayed an model 93 Mauser (sporter by DMW - Berlin) on the wall when I was growing up. It has fine line checkering on the Walnut stock, brass plate on the side, storage for 5 rounds in the but with a door on the cheak piece, octagon barrel with period correct removable 2x scope, with matchin SN and in 7x57. I always enjoyed seeing it and bugged him about giving it to me. He did, when I was in my mid 20's. His regret, and mine, was that he traded the double set trigger for a standard military on. The 93's are slightly different than the 98's. We looked together for decades for a replacement without success. After he passed, I was going through his stuff and found the receipt for it from 1952, IIRC, for around $125, I was 2 at the time. If forced, it would be the last gun I would let go.
