Took it all apart and now its time to polish and rebuild. finally a bicycle that I do not have to relace the wheels!!!!
This bicycle is cleaning up like new. Looking at the cog and chainrings I would be surprised if there were more than 500 miles on this thing!

Very nice! Can't quite tell if it has the "SUPER SPORT" head badge as well. looks like you're setting it up to haul the milk & cookies!

actually that bicycle came with the racks standard. They had two bikes, The supersport and the supersport SP. And yes that is the supersport badge on the front.

Its getting there. I have to decide on what brake levers to put on. Plus, do I want bar end shifters vs the original downtube. Its getting some two tone brown tape.

My '82 is my love. In fact--I'm looking for another if anyone knows of a 25"/63cm frame or entire bike in vg or better condition. And this--you need these: the original catalog and price sheet pages (if memory serves me well--thanks to BikeForum member Scooper for these). If you would like extras, I have some original Aero water bottles as shown in the attached.
Q: what spindle did your bike come with? Mine came with a non-JIS Sugino MT-68, all polished chrome.

Very nice bike, my Ross is built the same way, with Wald fenders and F/R racks. What seat is that?

Sweet bike. I can't wait to get my 83 SS up and running. I do agree that the seat looks great on there.

Great bike I realy like this one. Exspecialy that is the SP which was the deluxe touring version complete with the original racks and extras. Just a truly great riding versatile road bike that you can commute, tour on or even ride a shorter begginer level race on. One of the nicest all around sports bikes from the early 80's. I think some nicer vintage suntour barends and drilled 600 levers would go great on this one.

‘82 Super Sport SP resto
Dead horse thread resurrected!
Here's my before and after on my 1982 SS SP #D511 (21"). No racks, but it's now a full Suntour Cyclone 12spd group.
12 new hex screws fill in all of the threaded nibs. Right around 21.5# as it sits, but TOO SMALL for me. Located in Scottsdale, AZ. PM me if interested or for a price.

Resurrecting the 81/82 Super Sport thread for a quick question before i order parts (and do any disassembly) on a 1982 SS -- does anyone know if the headset on these is ISO or JIS?
