1984 Lotus Unique: Seat Post Size?

I picked up a 1984 Lotus Unique this weekend. It is destined to become a city bike for my sister-in-law. It came with a 26.2 post that rattles in the seat tube. I tried a 26.6mm post and it was too big. I was thinking 26.4 might be correct or maybe the ears were crimped. Anyone know for sure?

A 1984 Unique with Tange Mangaloy should use a 26.6mm post, at least from what I have seen on similar bikes.
