I love the fastback seat cluster. beautiful bike. I'd need a step stool to mount it though....

Uncle Albert used a combination of Columbus and 531. In my mind no one has ever made a more beautiful bike. Simple understated perfect. I still cant believe I was stupid enough to sell my "72" custom. Ed

Yeah; S1? Probably SL, but a bike shop should know better. Does anybody know if Albert used Italian threaded BB shells alot?

Eisentraut was well known to mix tubes in his frames; he didn't care for using complete tube sets just to be able to put a sticker on the frame stating such, instead he picked specific tubes from different sets and manufacturers to match what he felt the buyer's needs required.

Beautiful frame but I noticed that there are rear fender eyelets and not front ones. Is this a replacement fork?

I was thinking of that too. I was expecting a fully sloping crown with the controlled shapes that flowed right into the reinforcements, an Eisentraut "signature" for so long.

Not likely. Albert often built his bikes with only rear eyelets - maybe for a rack, but not fenders? And since it's a custom, that could've been by customer request.

In 1972 I ordered a racing frame from Lee Katz at Turin Chicago. Four months later it showed up white black graphics and rear eyelets. Whats with the eyelets? I was told take it or leave it. ED
