Welcome to C&V! Already a merry christmas for you, heh? That would be a PH10LE in 54 cm size. There might be a date code on the bottom bracket shell.
BTW, do you have picture of the entire bike, preferably from the drive side? We love pictures of bikes, and seeing the decals might help in determining the build year. |
Meanwhile, have a look here, mid-eighties would be my estimate for the build year:
|
I was always under the impression that the LE stood for HLE frame tubing, and the model was PH-10. With the right parts that bike can be well under 24 pounds, and ride like a dream. My black PH-10 is one of my favorite "long ride" bikes. Just did a 62 mile on mine back in April.,,,,BD

PH10LE 54 cm
I don't have an entry for a PH10LE model with rainbow decals and 103 tubing but its probably an '84 or '85 What's the serial number stamped under the crank area? |
Great looking bike!
Up till now, I considered Peugeot bikes of this style similar to American butt-welded, "free-spirit" bikes. I now see the Peugeot internally brazed frames are a pretty sophisticated deal. I hope you enjoy riding your new bike. |
That looks very nice, even when sideways :). Forgot to mention own a blue 10-speed PH10 myself. Like mr Bikedued says, they're very nice bikes. Enjoy!

So the seat on it doesn't fit... Like the bars on the seat won't fit in the grooves of the clamp.

?? Not sure what's going on. Maybe it's too far back? Perhaps you can show us a picture?
+1. It's way to far back...and those Avocet saddles are nice. The color doesn't match up with my data sheet but 1987 was the first year for Shimano derailleurs on the PH10.... |

Seat too far back. Very nice present- that's all you need to love riding. Nice color, good condition good bike. |
I really like that champagne color; very classy. The bike is in excellent shape esp. given its age. Treat it well and you have a real keeper.
|
The stem looks like it might be too high too. Make sure to check that the minimum insertion mark on its neck is not visible......
The Avocet saddle might be a later mod. Most mid and lower level Peugeots of that time had Mundialita labled saddles which I think could have been contracted out from Selle Italia.... |
Unusual and attractive colour. Assuming components are original, componentry and colour do not match up to any specs from US catalogs, but seem to come from the 1985-87 period, at any rate. Could be it's a non-US bike.
Nice bike in good condition - enjoy! |
