I'll give $10 for it!
Seriously, I think it would make a good upgrade, modern bike makeover. I would spend the remaining $640 on THAT!

I saw a few minutes ago that someone had posted an ad referring to the $650 mixte, telling the seller in more polite terms than I could muster, that they ought to do a bit more research before posting.

A couple of weeks ago this person had the same bike listed for $1000. I e-mailed her and suggested that she might have it overpriced. I refered her to this forum as a way to get a realistic value but I guess she's determined.

I hope this person sells it for $1000... because my mother has a fairly similar one that could be sold. Right now, $1000 U.S. comes to about $1250 Canadian, and I could use that money...

I bet some one is willing to pay that,, not because it is worth it, because there are buyers out there as smart as this guy.

I've been on Craigslist looking for an older road bike that I could use for commuting and to enjoy on a weekend ride. Can't really see any that are really worth the money they're asking for. I'm not an expert or a bike collecter, however I will pay for a bike that's worth it. So I came across this ad on some road bikes for sale but from doing a little research I still cannot believe what people are asking. Now maybe I'm wrong, but take a look at these and tell me your honest opinion.

Actually, I really appreciate this Weir guy -- and that shop on Telegraph in Berkeley. They make the prices I ask for the bikes I sell sound really reasonable.

I buy bikes like that regular for sub 20$. The 80's Columbus schwinns are okay and good deals at 20$, but the prices this fellow is asking seem all out of whack to me. Again, there are a lot of regional variations in old bike pricing, and I seem to live in the cheap area. I'm glad I'm not in SF, I couldn't afford housing or bicycles. I'm not sure about delusional; I would geuss he gets those prices sometimes. Expensive, yes.

Makes me wonder what my bike would fetch were I to sell it. I won't, of course, I love the darn thing, but I can't help but be curious.
