My old Cdale frame has them screwed in I believe. The other alternative is to get a clamp on adapter from Problem Solvers.

Just make sure you get the correct diameter.

If you can't find the replacement tab, you can always look for something like this.....
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-ANODIZ...item5afae9582a
I think they also make if for oversized tubing as used on MTBs.....

Giant dealers can order these, but they're a little different. All I've ever seen are the clamps that come in different diameters for different size seat tubes.

Closest so far, thanks...I'll definitely look into it. Can't tell if the one on the blue frame is steel or aluminum.
Anyone have one laying in a tool box somewhere?

Yeah, I see what you mean; that's weird. The concave side of the curve should face the rear.

Ok, so sloar saved the day and had the exact right part for my build...thanks again buddy.

Problem is now the other MTB guys I know who are building the same frame are jonesing for the part as well, lol.
Anyone else have one, or a few of these elusive critters laying in their stash?
I have to admit, chasing down obscure frames, and parts is almost as much fun as riding...almost.

this is why you never throw a frame out unless you have removed every last screw from it!
Hey eastcoaststeve... in the future it helps to put some information about the bike/frame/part in question. This was kind of easy but if you had a RIGI or some funky early low production carbon frame it may have taken awhile to even figure out what bike we were trying to fix.

Thanks BG...the frame is a 1987 Trek 8000 mountain bike...first year they did bonded aluminum tubes/lugs.
pic of the build so far:

sloar let me know that the tab he found for me came with a campagnolo victory braze on derailleur he purchased, maybe that
will help me source a few more.

An older, established Trek dealer should have some. The same part came on many OCLV road frames, and was removable, as well. If anything, they have them in their used parts bin, and would let you look for them on your time, not theirs. The version Scooper showed may have come on Kestrel frames, as they bolted on in front of the mount, whereas the Trek one bolted behind the mount.

I started a post before I seen this. I need that part for a kestrel evoke. Except mine looks like the one they say Giant can get.

The Trek one above looks very similar to Cannondale's. It might work, if you can find one.
