Time to play whatsit

Going thru the parts bin today and found these. No sure what they are.

Whatsit #1 . I think these are installed on a spoke to activate a fork mounted odometer. Yes? No? Maybe?

Whatsit #2 . No clue what these are. Imprinted word on piece says adjust.

They are very old school, shoes with cleats were used until clipless pedals came to dominate.

More properly I should call them a shoe plate, this is where the cleat from the shoe fits and then you would have a clip / strap to snug everything down.

For #1 , yes they are the piece that attaches to the spoke to make the "tick tick tick" sound as it hits the axle mounted odometer. It is a well known fact that some people go insane from the noise.
