My precious unique tool
There is only one just like this, so the word unique actually applies to this wrench. I am about to start a campaign to save the word "unique" since so many people use it as if it is a synonym for "unusual." It's not, because unique means ONE of a kind. Something cannot be very unique or fairly unique. It is either unique, or it isn't.
bikeforums member aixaix, who is a superb master car mechanic, made this for me. It's an industrial strength so-called peanut butter wrench. One end has a fixed 15mm socket welded onto it, useful for turning most nuts on a track bike. The other end has a big bearing ball, to make the torquing more comfortable. It works great, and it will last a lifetime.

I would have used a Husky brand wrench. More appropriate name wise.

I wish I could find the 8-9-10mm socket wrench we made at Bikecology in the early 1970s by brazing cut-off lengths of allen wrenches into a 3-pointed star configuration and brazing the sockets to the ends. Think of a small 3-armed variant of the standard trucker's 4-armed lug wrench. We carried these in our shop coats, and they were very handy for doing quick adjustments on customers' bikes or floor models. Of course, the concept got copied or independently reinvented elsewhere, because one can buy something similar.

We used to get big ball bearing and use them with our marbles. We called them steelies. OK... I am old I realize kids haven't played marbles in decades. And... I haven't seen a big old ball bearing in half a century.
