Hi all I have to choose between either a 1981 gazelle champion mondial AB full bike for around €400 I will post a pic of specs it has reynolds 531 tubing.
Or a Concorde mistral frame with headset and BB for €160. This frame has columbus alle tubing This is the Concorde http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=373558 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=373559 And this is the same frame as the gazelle would be but the one if be gettin would be a full bike. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=373560 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=373561 Which would be better value ? |

As long as it fits, the Gazelle by a wide margin.

The Gazelle, all the way.

If that is the gazelle size as stated by gazelle it is center to top... be aware of that, but yeah 531 over aelle any day.

Looking again at what is on the Gazelle, I think 400Euro might be a bit steep. If it were all Campa Record, then maybe so.
|
Ok I might be able to get him down to 350

Did I say Gazelle already? Unless you find a Squadra or Aguila, the Gazelle would be a better choice by far.

Good if you can...go lower if possible. Do consider my comments are just my opinion. I have not seen the bike and the description leaves much to be desired. Not knowing what level Campagnolo makes it a tough call. I admit to being a bit of a Campa snob. If it isn't top of the line such as Record, I am not interested.

All campy parts are either nuovo record or older he said. |
I had Abit of a look around and it seems that a lot of these bikes came standard with a full nuovo set. If I do get the bike I plan on replacing everything that's not campy to campy so it's original.

in the place I lived in the 80s, it was normal to buy a frame and have it build up with the parts you wanted, standard builds where not popular. |

As others already wrote, go with the gazelle, it is a much better frame.
