Wheelset overkill?

My first ride of over 2 miles so far this year was this morning with the Raleigh GP that now does the kid hauler duty, but the wheels that were on it were junk, the wheels that were on hand were these Gipemme wheels with aero spoke and 9sp, the bike rode nice though.

Sure, it's overkill. So what? Looks good, hauls the kiddo, and apparently the wheelset was just hanging around waiting for a job to do. Sounds like an all-around win.

Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

"Overkill" to me means 48 spoke front and rear.

Boy, there will be a lot of mass behind the rear axle with a child on board. I have no problem with the wheels.

Now that's what I'm talking about!

I can help. I'll send you some lower level wheels, you can send me those, and we'll both sleep better.
