Help identifying my bike?

I don't know if this is the right place or not, but I recently bought a Schwinn Cruiser-Six, and cannot find any information about it. I read where to look for the serial number and it says TY80800896. I can't find numbers like that located anywhere. I've looked in two books and online but still come up with nothing. If there is anybody out there that can help me identify my bike and maybe it's age I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
Kurt
Now I can't find where to add my picture. Can anyone help? Or could I email it? Whoops, I think I got the pic in the next post.

Your bikes looks like it's from the 70's - 80's from the reflectors, grip shifter and speedometer. That saddle looks hideously painful. I'd make the sure the wheels are true and repack/replace the bearings on the crankset and the headset. and replace that saddle.

Have fun.

Thank-you! The saddle is definitely going! LOL! Last night I saw on the head badge the number 2278, does that help date it?
Thanks again,
Kurt

ON NEWER BIKES:
you can find a 4 digit serial number lightly stamped onto the headbadge.
The first three digits are the numerical day of the year,
and the last digit is the last digit of the year.

You've got a Schwinn from July of 1988. Or possibly 1978.

does your headbadge look like this:

The 4 digit number is on the right side of the N and it doesn't say Chicago on the bottom.

Our headbadge is black and the letters are silver. I'll try to get a picture.

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=377062It's hard to see but the 4 digit number 2278 is on the right side, between the 2 N's.

Does it make a difference that my headbadge doesn't have "Chicago" on the bottom?

Looks to be Schwinn from there retro series sold from the early to mid 80's. Check some catalogs online and suspect you will find this exact bike.
