Long Live the King!

Today we celebrate the king's birthday, and part of that tradition is a nationwide garage sale. Bought my first road bike there five years ago for €20. Today I got up pretty early - to get the proverbial worm - and this is what I came home with.

A nice blingy pair of Mavic Cosmic wheels. They were €10 a piece, but the seller said if I bought two I would get a discount. So I bought two.

Found some useful tools as well for €7.

I had a pretty good Saturday morning.

We could use a bike riding king in the USA. Someone we might look up to as a role model for good citizenship and service to others. Someone who does not rule us, but inspires us to rise beyond ourselves.

Not that I'm much into monarchies but, we could hardly do much worse with a king. Or queen.

Who needs a king when you have Dubya the mountainbiking conqueror?
