there are likely a good number of bozzi enthusiasts reading this thread and i have a bozzi question i have long wondered about.

of his three marques all were begun somewhere else by someone else. in north america where i am domiciled we see a good number of frejus and of legnano cycles but almost no examples of his third badge - wolsit. am assuming that this is due to a lack of organised importation. did tom avenia, for example, ever bring in any wolsit?

Hmmm. Most of the examples from this era that I've seen pictures of, the decal was placed on the seat tube.

prior to reading forum had seen few pre-boom bozzi bici.

What a great find. 60's bikes are my favourite and this one's no exception. Congrats on a lovely bike.

The thing that made me wonder about the dating is the head badge/seat clamp combo.
I believe the head badge on the OP's bike was only fitted in 1956, as they ran out of space for more CdM dates and left them out entirely on the later badges, such as on Aaron's bike.
I've seen plenty of bikes with the later badges and seat clamp ears, but not the OP's combination.

Great bike, but of course I am partial to road bikes of that vintage. :)

The crankset looks a lot like the Agrati on Capo #2 -- the spider was forged integrally with the right crank, instead of being pressed on.

The original Simplex 3-to-6-bolt adapters can handle a 45T chainring, minimum -- the previous owner had set up Capo #2 w/ 58(!)-45, which I replaced w/ my favorite combination, 49-46.

...the cups are marked as Campagnolo on both sides. I know what you mean about vintage bars, but I'm kinda vintage myself,
so I manage to accommodate my riding positions to a variety of widths.

Anything I intend to ride regularly and more aggressively, I usually just replace the bar with something more modern with a center
reinforcing sleeve at the stem, and hang the originals in the garage somewhere. I hope it does not create problems for subsequent
owners, but I broke a bar at the stem once, and it was quite upsetting.

dating is curious. iirc the campag record chainset and front mech launched right about the same time in 1959-60. the pros would typically get new components a bit before they were available to the general public so this can slightly complicate the timelines.

since machine is clearly a first quality model it seems odd to be fitted with a gran sport front mech and a rear mech which did not launch until 1963.

not challenging anyone's dating; just curious to understand more/better.

wrt wolsit -

just ran across this cl entry for a sixties era frameset.

question for the experts: maybe it is just my tired old eyes or a photographic effect but the top and down tubes look to be slightly bent just behind the head lugs. what do you think?
