Well... That seems worth $5
Friend brought this over tonight for me to check out. He picked it up for $5 at a yard sale, some people have all the luck. The worst part? It is exactly my size!
Trek 2300, full Tricolor including hubs, brakes, crank, etc. Apparently the previous owner rode it up until 5 years ago when his kids were born and it has been collecting dust since. Joints don't show any corrosion, and don't seem loose, but the upper junction for the seat tube has some clear coat flaking.
Anything I need to know about these before I dig into the rebuild too far? He basically just wants it gone through to make sure everything is in safe and working order.

We are similar heights, I might have about 2" height over him. The seat is pretty close to where it needs to be for him to ride it, stand over is comfortable for me and tight for him.

Still learning
Why would there be corrosion on a carbon and aluminum frame?

Still learning
Only on a stuck Specialized Hardrock seat post. Otherwise, most of these CF bikes have enjoyed a bucolic garage life, so unlikely for the aluminum to oxidize. I was thinking about picking up the same bike to build a SS, but frame set only is $125. Now I know for sure it is overpriced! LOL

I guess corrosion isn't the best word to describe that, but something about 25 year old glue keeping my face from the pavement doesn't give me fuzzy feelings.
