What is this Concorde Bottom Bracket set up?
 

My Concorde PDM just arrived and I have been going over it to see exactly what it is and came up with another wierd bit. It bears an 'SLX' decal and I found and Aquila sticker under one of the Voler stickers and it has a bottom bracket that I am not familiar with. I have seen the clover cut outs on these, the Cinelli spoiler, tubular guides, plastic guides on newer ones but not this one with the three slashes and the open guides. It also has a reinforcing web between the chain stays that I have not seen on these before. Also, no 'Concorde' pantographed on the top, again odd as I was expecting to see it. It is also lacking all the usual pantographing with the Concorde 'C' that one usually sees, but it does have the angled, solid brake bridge, again with no Concorde logo. Is one of the odd non-Ciocc builds? if so, who?

It's investment cast and made by Silva in Italy...probably '90s era and AFAIK some Silva items are still available from frame supply places like Ceeway and Nova, perhaps even this BB shell.

I've seen them used on a few different brands, but one that pops up in my foggy mind was a DeBernardi...I'm sure a lot of (mainly Italian) builders used them, but these came up when competition from Cinelli and Roto was still there plus new high-quality shells from Asia (like Hitachi) and even the US (Henry James) were competing, too.

Thanks yet again. I know Concordes were built by several different frame builders and this is an odd one for sure. None of the "normal" ear marks are on this frame except for the drops and the internal cable routing. No panto at all or Concorde engravings except the fork crown. Even the lugs are different. None of the usual cutouts, just a tiny diamond cut on each one. I am thinking maybe the size is odd, 52, so it was some weird one off.

That sounds like it could be a Concorde fork on some other frame.
I haven't seen any that had "diamond" cut-outs in the lugs: that was a style of a couple well-known brands (Miyata/Univega, and Pogliaghi come to mind) but never seen a Concorde with them.

I put the original photo s from the sales listing in my original post but will take some of my own as well. The paint is clearly an original PDM with lots of use and it does have the typical Altech drops and is definitely SLX as you can see and feel the rifling. I am wondering if 52 was an atypical size for Billato / Concorde so when the request came in. They pulled a frame out of inventory that had been intended for another company, put on the correct drops and mailed it north with the correct fork for painting. The paint and decals are tired and there is some chipping and rust to deal with but this one is only getting a bunch of touchups instead of a repaint. If I repainted, no one would believe that it is a Concorde.
