What should I do? Frejus or Cinelli?
1 Attachment(s)
I owned a 1968 Cinelli($210). Purchased in 1969. I raced it until 1972 and traded Cinelli frame($35) on a new Frejus($132). All equipment was removed from the Cinelli and mounted on the Frejus. Except for BB, Headset and Saddle pin. They were new. The Frejus came with a Masi fork from Italy delivered to South African bike store. Should I sell the Frejus frame and replace with a Cinelli. I have cleaned the bike and it has some light rust on parts only- not on Frame. I have original receipt too. My Mother kept everything. Or should I just clean it up and enjoy her?
The tires and rims have been replaced as they were tubeless, with Campagnola rims. I also have my shoes -Detro Petro from 1969 which do still fit- just. Included are all tools for crank removal, Spoke wrench and Campagnola Allen keys etc. Thanks for your help |
Am I correct to suspect that a Cinelli frame would cost lots more than what you might get selling the Frejus frame??...like at least hundreds of bucks more?
I think the Cinelli will always have more universal C&V "cachet" in the end. I'd go for it if you can afford the additional cash outlay to do it!:thumb: |
So it seems. Today there is one on eBay in bad condition for $2000.

The frejus is great. I'd clean it up and ride the heck out of it.

I'm not that familiar with Frejus but if in 1972 you thought it was better than Cinelli why change back?

How were you to know, some 40+ years later, that the Cinelli would be worth 3 to four times what the Frejus frame would be? I'd clean up and keep the Frejus. Unless money is no object. |

I would definitely keep both.

Don't disturb the vintage Frejus, keep it the way it is. Buy a complete Cinelli if you want one. My 2 cents.

Campagnolo. With an "O" at the end. I have sometimes wondered why folks spell it like this. With an "a". Perhaps it is because the "o" on the end looks like an "a" in script?
Anyway…yeah, find yourself another 68 Cinelli. If you happen to have quite deep pockets, all the better. |
Here's one that looks your size.
