Campy SR anodized black
 

Does anyone have any insight on a SR grouppo that was from 1986-87 that came anodized black with gold hardware? I worked in the shop almost 28 years ago that sold the bike, a 17 year old mechanic and I never forgot it and I called the guy out of the blue and he still had the bike. A year later It's in my garage! It's not NOS, some things are a little faded but still in pretty good shape overall. Was this a one off or did a second party anodizer do this and re-sell them to the public? My old boss whom I asked doesn't remember where he got it for the customer. The giant 62cm. Raleigh frameset is for sale. $250

love it, uber cool and definitely deserves a cooler frame.

You should be able to get pretty good money for that gruppo.... if you ever sell it, as it looks to be in decent condition from your pics....
Maybe not 50th anniversary gruppo money but much more than just regular SR, for sure.

I've seen bits and pieces here and there, but never a complete group. Save it, clean it up and ride it.

Probably anodized after it left Campagnolo. I recall seeing polished, gold-plated, and pantographed parts when I worked at Euro-Asia Imports in 1988-1989, but nothing black anodized.

Austro-Daimler Vent Noir comes to mind for me.

Needs a Black Lightning.

Now THAT would be super cool.
