Vintage Locomotief from Amsterdam

I found this locally, it is said to have been brought over on a steamer in the 50's and left in Chicago years ago. Transported to Albuquerque at some point and then sat for a long time. Pretty neat leather chain cover, delicate Mylar skirt guards and through the frame wiring for the front and rear lights that still work! Quite the survivor.

Thanks for looking, now I just need a lucky lady to try it out!

Very nice, and in great condition. But seventies rather than fifties, I'd say.

Thanks for the input, what makes you think 70's?? From what I've read, Locomotief merged with Simplex in 1952 and ceased independent production, just curious.

Thanks, MK

The Locomotief brand was owned by Gazelle from the late sixties onwards, and I'm pretty sure they kept producing Locomotief-branded bikes. The reason I think this one is from the seventies is that most of the parts seem to be from that era. For instance, I had the exact same rear light on the Batavus my parents bought me in 1975.
