Mystery Gitane
4 Attachment(s)
I was hoping you kind people may be able to help me identify this Gitane that I came across. I was told it was early to mid 70's, and through my research I couldn't find another one with chrome in that scheme on the chainstays.. Does anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately I'm unable to take any more pictures as it's not yet in my possession.
It has Suntour Cyclone brakes, and matching Suntour Cyclone derailleurs. Sugino chainrings on the crankset, http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=383718http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=383719http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=383720http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=383721 |
That's a 1984 Espirit with almost all of the components upgraded.

The admin's will tell you that there is a separate subforum for pricing evaluations on this same bike forum site... or they might even switch this thread over to the other one. There are people that monitor that forum that can probably help you with a general ball park price. My guess is the sum of parts is worth more than the whole. I seem to remember thinking the frame was light in weight for being a entry level bicycle; how's the weight of yours, in your opinion?
