Can anyone tell me anything about this bike.It says columbia built on both the tank and chain guard.American on the seat post. Its internal horn is on the side of the tank.It has an oil fill port on chainguard.I think it may be a 1957 but dont know make ???Any help would be great. Missy I can provide more pics if needed. Thanks. |
That looks like a Columbia badge right on the headset. You photo is really small. If you put up a photo, make it larger next time.

We're going to need bigger/more pictures. 1957 is probably about right though.

'46-'60 according to the headbadge. You can look up the serial number here: What Year is my Columbia? Serial Number Charts

Ive checked that site and determined it was an 1957 but does anyone know its make? and value?
|
I don't know which model it is, it is very hard to find Columbia catalogs from the 1950s.
Two things to consider: 1: It is a step through frame - a girl's bike - which counts against its value. 2: it has several desirable features, the tank, the light, the chain oiler, all things which increase value. If it were in excellent shape it would be worth about $200-$300 to the right buyer, which admittedly there won't be many. In as-is condition it's difficult to say because while some of the parts are valuable, the bike itself is not especially valuable. If it were carefully cleaned and polished up, you might be lucky to exceed $100. |
I'd take the $30. tag off it and put $100. at least. Neat bike.
