A Flying Scot Returned To The Road
2 Attachment(s)
I finally finished the restoration of my 1969 Flying Scot. There's a couple of bits I might tinker with now that I look closely at the photographs but it's basically done and rideable. I've got three weeks to break the saddle in and iron out any glitches before the Eroica Britannia (UK's inaugural Eroica event)!

Nice job! :thumb:
I don't know about breaking in a new Brooks professional in 3 weeks; but to me they seem pretty comfy right out of the box. Have a heroic ride. |
What a cool bike. When I was in Scotland I had hoped to maybe see one of these - no such luck though! The vintage guys I talked to all knew someone who knew a guy who had once owned one...
Please post photos of the event, btw. |
Nice, not over done; just right!

That is a classy looking bike. Nicely done!

Very nice! Stuff from over the pond there and before you get to the continent is just so cool. :) Thanks for sharing. How does it ride?

I like it. I can see from a practical standpoint exchanging the crank set for one with a smaller inner ring would be reasonable.
I kind of liked the original build as it was period and practical for cost to benefit/preference. If the parts selection of the final was original the owner would have been rather well off. I guess part of the charm of 60's enthusiast bikes bikes from the UK is that there was much care of where to spend and where to save. Keen selection was the order of the day. |
Make Graeme Obree proud!
