1984 Klein Performance bike needs saddle

I'm not looking to make it original but what saddle would be appropriate for this bike? The saddle on there now is really dirty and has a couple of rips. It's also white and a black saddle would match better since the bar tape is black. What would you put on there?

eMats, The saddle needs to be comfortable for you. I have a "Flite butt" so I agree with, oddjob2.

Thanks for the replies!

I think that's what's on there now. I don't mind the small tears but is there any way to dye them black? It's sort of/supposed to be white right now. A black saddle would match better.

San Marco Rolls

I think the original saddles were kind of ... unstylish

I put a Selle Italia Turbomatic on my '92 Performance when I built it back then, rode many centuries and tours across Washington and SE France with them. My son is still using that bike and saddle 21 years later.

Any LBS will probably give you a black "take off" saddle, if color is all you're after. But if you're actually going to ride this bike (and you should!) consider saddles with less padding and a shape that you think will feel good. Expect a few tries to find one that suits your posterior.

Easy - put white bar tape on it.

This shoe spray should work. It wears better than you would expect.

Thanks all. I'll try the shoe spray. given the suggestions here, I should see if this saddle is comfortable for me. Maybe I'll get a new one in black if it is.
