Today's Yard sale finds....Trek 420 and Bridgestone RB-1

Picked both these up today for 20$ each, got a Kryptonite Cable Lock w/ the Bridgestone as well. There's a questionable spot on the RB-1 frame, but it might just be a cracking/delaminating decal, behind the steer tube on the downtube....Shimano 600 on the RB-1. I'll probably try to flip the Trek on C-list before I move this summer....Chris...

Congrats on two great scores! I had to check to make sure this post was not from 10 years ago.

I hate your guts!
Excellent bargains that's for sure. The Bridgestone is sweet. Just my size too. I'm betting that's just decal damage too.

Congrats! Excellent scores and I think that is only a damaged decal on the RB-1.

That NOS pedal reflector in the ziploc bag makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it?

It's just the icing on the cake! Actually have been finding quite a few bikes this summer now that I'm making more of an effort to look for them at Yard Sales..... Alaska can be a weird market for bikes and such. tons of ski equipment though!

I find the key to yard sales is looking for other stuff as well. While finding bikes is kind of rare, I routinely find plenty of other stuff that can be resold to feed the habit. If I limited myself to just bikes, I would have given up on yard sales years ago.

Did you actually talk the seller down from the $25 sticker price? :-) Great score! I'm impressed you are finding bikes in Alaska.

Yes, I did actually talk the seller down from 25$....that's the fun of yard sales, haggling, and when you're buying 20-30 things each morning that adds up pretty fast. There are bikes up here in Alaska, but not like where I've lived in Idaho... Other thing is that a lot of people leave them outside, and winters up here kill everything, so condition can vary widely. wrk101- I actually have had a long hiatus from buying bikes, but buy all kinds of other stuff/hobby/outdoors gear, started looking for bikes this winter (have a friend who is a professional auction picker) and have been doing quite well. Guess I've got the bug again. Winter gear is king up here in Alaska though as you can imagine. Chris....

Nice score. FWIW, the RB-1 is a 1992 model based on the paint scheme.
