1985 Gitane Pro Build

Finished up a 6-month build of my 1985 Gitane last night and took it for a quick shake down run this AM. Going to do a 20-mile ride later today :) Specs: 52cm Reynolds 531 Competition frame with period-correct Campagnolo Super Record components (excepting the 3TTT Criterium seatpost). Mavic GP4 rims. Everest Serie Special chain. Cinelli 1R with Giro bars. As a tribute to the Renault ELF team, I used a 'Team LeMond' 53T Super Record chainring and a Bernard Hinault Turbo saddle. Benotto vinyl tape with correct end plugs. NOS vintage bottles and Cobra cages.

Dang, that's a pretty one.
And kind of a cool concept for a F1 racing team to have a bike racing team. |
